hump day // stoked

And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself.

So its Wednesday.... my second to last day of my summer job... hump day.... aka I'm so tired and stressed and stoked all at the same time its a weird combination!  This morning I woke up super early to visit my old ceramics studio from when I was in high school, which really put me in a good mood about life!  So in light of the dreaded the hump day Wednesday blues I'm normally feeling right about now, I thought I'd share a little love and motivation with all y'all!

First, I found this really wonderful quote on Tumblr while sitting at my desk... first I kind of scrolled past it, but then I was like "hey you should read that" so I did and I'm entirely captivated by it.  I love language its author used and how powerful it is.

Wow right?  I think that this is a message that everyone should be reminded of every once in a while.  Otherwise, I've shared some pretty awesome photos to keep you going strong this week!  First a pigeon, because I recently read a quote somewhere that mention how pigeons are the luckiest animals in the world because they get to live in the most beautiful places.... hellloo, Los Angeles, Savannah, Madrid, Paris.... c'mon pigeons are everywhere!  And also, this pigeon is a beaut!  I also included a picture of two girls dancing in the streets because its just so happy and reminds me of the fact I'm going to Spain on Saturday to hang out with one of my best friends!!!!  They're just so delighted by life and I know that that's how I'm going to feel in Spain next week!  The graffiti I put up because its just so dang inspirational!  Like if I saw that in neon pink spray paint on the side of a building I'd snap a pick then be like... "yeah, you're right, now is the perfect time!"  And finally I posted a picture of the adored Meryl Streep because she's Meryl Streep and just so glam even before her stardom!

I hope that I was able to share a little bit of my excitement about life with you this afternoon and that you make it safely and joyfully over the Wednesday hump!

xo xo!!
