Writers Block

Hi guys, I know I haven't posted in a while and I honestly feel like a complete failure for it.  I have been having the worst writers block in a long time so I literally have no idea or thoughts about anything.  Okay, well I have lots of ideas and thoughts but I am having the most difficult time putting them down on paper.  I just thought I'd post a few picture from what I've been up to lately so we can pretend like I've actually been working on stuff for Legit.  The first couple are from my school's homecoming Spirit Spectacular assembly.  It was probably my favorite day from the last couple weeks because I was asked to homecoming in front of the whole school.  I was thoroughly embarrassed yet really, really happy I was asked by who I was asked by.  The next pictures are just from some football games, post game milkshake outing, and two froyo runs after a two birthday dinners.  So yeah, that's my life-- pretty exciting!  And seriously, if anyone has any cure for writers block, please oh please comment and tell me your secrets!

Florals in Fall?

If you're like me, you're probably out every weekend shopping for the latest fall trends!  Shopping for Fall clothing can be really fun (and a little pricey!!) but it also a little sad because it means that you have to say good-bye to some of everyone's favorite non-Fall trends.... like floral!  Floral prints are normally recognized with Spring and have really been incorporated into Summer fashions over the last couple years.  For the most part designers and large clothing companies ditch the floral during Winter and Fall leaving some of us pretty sad that our favorite prints aren't really in style for the next couple months.  Well, if that's you, you're in luck!  Be different this Fall and keep your florals in your wardrobe!  I don't mean whip out your favorite floral sundresses and through on some tights though; that's so last year.  During the next couple months try to use floral in minimal ways that will make a big statement.  The perfect example would be to use floral statement scarves and blazers, which are big trends this season and are absolute must-haves.  If you're a floral lover, go for these pieces in floral to replace your last season dresses and blouses. (Save the floral dresses/ blouses though, they will be useful for time in between Winter and Spring while you're shopping for Spring clothes!!)  I also would encourage the use of floral on shoes and handbags when wanting to integrate a favorite pattern into your fall-wear.  Mix florals with fall bolds, solids, or even something simple like a little black dress for the perfect Fall look!  I hope you found these tips and suggestions helpful!!

Polyvore Inspiration Board

So, as some of you know I am apart of the BP Nordstrom Fashion Board where we are pretty much like little employees in training.  We research and report about trends, assemble outfits on the floor, go to Nordstrom events, and a lot of other cool stuff.  For one of our projects we had to create a Polyvore account and then make a look using only BP Nordstrom products.  My board is inspired by the Navajo trend that is very popular right now, along with the 70's trend which has been creeping back into the fashion world for a while now.  All produces on my inspiration board can be found at Nordstrom and are actually pretty fairly priced-- I can assure you that all Nordstrom merchandise is top-notch and well money spent.

new and still improving...

So we decided it would be a good idea to introduce you to the "new" Legit Fashion.  There isn't really anything new to it, except for the layout if you haven't noticed yet.  Just like you we're getting used to it too, so you might be seeing a lot of changes throughout the next couple of weeks.  The purpose of this post is to tell you all how to use the new Legit Fashion since it can be a little tricky for people who don't know what to do.

If you are a Google Chrome user, on the top left corner there will be a (+1) image.  We encourage you to click this image, it lets us know you've read the post.  In addition, for any browser, at the bottom of the page there will be options to "like" posts via Facebook and another option to tweet about the post if you have a Twitter account.  We encourage you to do both, because once again it helps us get an accurate understanding of how many of you are being legit!

i'm inspired by... ((Antonella Arismendi Photography))

Antonella Arismendi has become one of my favorite photographers.  Her photographs are outstanding and creative beyond all believe.  She has a website with all her photos and there's not one that I don't find breath-taking.  These are a few of my recent favorite ones, I've posted some pictures by her in some of our other "i'm inspired by..." posts so some of her pictures might be familiar to you.  I hope you find these as enjoyable as I do.  Have a marvelous Monday!

What Caroline Wore-- Fille Jolie

HI!
I love Sundays.  Mainly because I like going to church and spending time with my family and friendly, but also because I get to dress up.  My church isn't really one where we have to dress in a certain type of clothes, but for most of the time I go, I like to get dressed up because its fun!  Friday, I went to a huge Rummage Sale for a charity group (NCL) I'm apart of and I found this amazing floral dress along with this bag!  I am like obsessed with them!  I also bought another bag not featured in this post, but all together it cost me $12.... such a steal!  And the two bags were Dooney & Bourke and Coach!  Like best deal EVER right?!  Seriously, I will never pay for anything full price again from thrifting to garage sales.... you're always a shoe-in to find an amazing deal!  Anyways, this is my sunday-wear! :)

Its a Shoe Thing!

Shoes can tell you a lot about a person.  They can tell you about their fashion style, their life, where they've been... where they're going.  Shoes speak even though we can't hear them.  I wanted to share you about half of mine and my sister's collection of shoes.  For the most part we share shoes, but the majority of these are mine.  I am a sucker for a new pair of shoes.  They seriously complete every outfit and having the right pair is like the cherry on top of the sundae.

What Caroline Wore-- All American Girl.

 Oh my gosh, hello everyone!
Sorry I've been so MIA these last couple weeks.  I had some personal things going on where I couldn't focus on Legit all that much but if you've been keeping up with me you'll know that I've been very active with my Tumblr account, which is pretty much just pictures that inspire me and whatnot.  Anyways let me tell you a little bit about what I wore to school today!  Because of these stressful past couple weeks, I've been pretty much just wearing all my basic clothes.  Basics are much easier to mix and match than pieces that are very distinct, and they are just easy to wear.   If you couldn't already guess by the word itself, basic pieces are ones without much "fuss", they are are normal solid colored or a simple print like stripes and polka dots.  They do not have many embellishments and are super simple. On top of all of that they always look cute no matter what-- its spectacular! :)  Now onto my outfit: today, I wore just a simple crop top, a knee length black skirt, my oxfords, and carried around my book bag-- no accessories.  Its simple and sweet.  In addition, I realized as I was editing these pictures that my hair is still blue and my America pin is on my bag, which would make me look very patriotic today!

What Caroline Wore: ▲ Hipster Friday ▲

Okay so this is what I wore.... it's Friday chic, hipster casual, mermaid spectacular. (Notice the blue hair... actually I don't think you can see it, I'll do a post later about it!) Here's my formula for the perfect "beginner" hipster look:
floral + crop top + a little lace/crochet + cute messy hair

I'm inspired by... ((thesunshine))

SO I guess I'm just really inspired by the sunshine today... it's so gorgeous despite how hot it is!  Like seriously, I'm going to miss this warm weather in a couple months when it gets freezing.  Stop complaining about the heat and start appreciating it-- it's only here for a little while longer!  Okay, that's all.  That's my inspirational moment for the day!
